Grilled coconut bananas

Grilled coconut bananas

Once ready, drizzle with the melted chocolate and eat whilst still hot. This is also delicious served with vanilla ice cream!

Serves: 4-6

  • 3-4 ripe bananas (not yet blackened, though)
  • 1 cup coconut milk
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • barbecue skewers
  • 100g dark or milk chocolate, melted
  1. When ready for grilling, cut the bananas into quarters diagonally.
  2. Place the sugar and coconut milk into separate bowls.
  3. Dip each quarter of banana into the coconut milk followed by the sugar and skewer onto a wooden or metal skewer. Thread a couple of banana pieces onto each skewer.
  4. Grill on the barbecue until nicely caramelized. Try only turning them once, as they can slip off or break rather easily.
  5. Once ready, drizzle with the melted chocolate and eat whilst still hot. This is also delicious served with vanilla ice cream!
