Lunchbox flapjacks

I used lovely big rolled oats for this recipe, but ordinary porridge oats will be fine too.

Makes: 1 - 12 Squares

250g rolled oats

125g butter

100g sugar (brown or white)

3 tbsps golden syrup

  1. Line a baking tin with baking parchment and pre-heat the oven to gas 4/180°C.
  2. Melt the butter and sugar together in a saucepan, then combine with the oats and golden syrup.
  3. Mix well and tip into the baking tin.
  4. Bake in the centre of the oven for around 15mins, until golden.
  5. Score with a knife into squares while the mixture is still hot; this will make it easier to cut once the flapjacks have cooled.
